Old people up in my business

Another day on my way to the beach, and already I'm being stared at from head to toe.  Because it's not actually summer yet (only May) people who go to the beach are "crazy."  Personally, if the sun is out and I'm sweating my ass off, then its the perfect day to go to the beach.  But no, no, no, it's much to cold to go in the water still, so going to the beach is off limits the old people say.  

As I'm on my way in my beach gear, and beach bag in hand, everyone looks at me like I'm walking to my death.  I just ignore and know that when I get there its going to be hot and beautiful for laying on the beach.  Trying to ignore the stares, one pappou (gpop) startles me asking why I'm going to the beach.  Why I'm going to the beach??? Why the hell does he care I'm thinking.  I just answer him yes, as he looks at me with disgust and replies "It's too cold!"  First of all, its not, and second, why does he care.  I then keep walking trying to ignore him telling me I'm crazy because the water is cold.  Like DUH the water is cold.  I don't have to go in I'm thinking..how annoying.  And I leave him as he keeps telling me I'm crazy.  Right, I'm crazy, when he is the one screaming at some stranger what do to.

So I'm walking further and then a yiayia (gmom) stops me in my tracks and asks if I'm going to the beach too.  Like what the! Why do all these old people care.  I tell her yes and she asks me, "its nice?" I say yes and she gives me a face of approval and an OK for going.  Thanks yiayia for the approval.

I finally got to the beach after getting through all the disapproving faces and it was HOT and BEAUTIFUL just like I knew it would be.  Greeks, especially old ones, can be strange. They just love to get in ma business.  Like if its not 100 degrees with warm sea water, then its not right to go.  Well with my ass sweating all the way there, I disagree.
